Hi! I'll be playing Dicey Dungeon Escape tomorrow on stream along with several others games from the jam at 3:30pm EST. I'll be talking about any interesting design decisions as I play, and suggesting improvements if any come to mind. Please feel free to join me live, it'll be extra fun to chat together about your game while playing it :)
Here's the segment where I played your game! As we discussed in the stream, the board game aesthetic is interesting, it draws in board games fans, but the game would benefit from giving the player more control. For example, if they had a limited number of re-rolls, that would give the players the power to escape from a sticky situation rather than just hoping to have good luck in their rolls. Keep up the good work :)
Nice! A fun little roguelike! There was just enough strategy to balance out the luck aspect of it! Not a ton to it but very solidly put together! Great work! Not too many suggestions aside from maybe some animation / aesthetic stuff. :D
Short and sweet! The use of the kit art is pretty good. I wish the player was able to make more decisions, as the game felt entirely like a dice roll. Sure, that's the main mechanic, but players need agency in games, so it feels like they're playing a game, and not that the game is playing them.
